Default new clothes, not just armor

Hello.
As you can see, I am fairly new to GW Guru, but i have been reading the forums for quite a long time now.

Maybe you have guessed what this topic is about. If not, here's a short introduction:

For some weeks now, I have been thinking; It's a bit ugly to be wearing combat armor all the times. When you're on holiday parties, having fun with friends,... So i thought it would be cool to have other clothes. Clothes they wore in the medieval times.

Ok so let's get down to business.
My idea is for all professions to be able to access all the clothes availible. The clothes should also be dyable. To obtain these clothes, you would have to talk for example to Katya [dressmaker] in Lion's Arch and a window will pop up, as if you would talk to weaponsmith, armor maker etc.
So as i way saying, there will be sets of clothes (like there's druid armor, tyrian, fur-lined, and so on). You will have gloves, torso, leggings and shoes/boots. This will basically work like armor, but different skin. And there will be no armor level, but if there will be, it should probably be minimum.

Luckily, I have found some pictures on deviantart (http://www.deviantart.com) so it will be easier for you to imagine what i mean.

WARNING - big images

(don't mind the blood)

I have only found 1 male picture but i hope this gives you a better idea of what i mean. You might think this is a stupid and pointless idea. Well actually it is stupid and pointless but when you're on events (like christmas, halloween,..) it's a bit wierd to be in armor, isn't it? Ok so you probably won't like it but i do.

Thanks for reading

EDIT: I have seen many of you saying that all armors should be open to all players (for example if you are a ranger, you should be able to get mesmer or elementalist armor). I have been thinking about that too but for some reason i thought it would be a bit..wierd. But since i see people would want that, then i could suggest this too .

But when getting the other armor, the attributes (for example the headgear (+1 in one of attributes)) should be for the profession you currently are.

I read every single reply btw

Sounds like an interesting idea... *wonders what his warrior would look like in this season's casuals*

Although, if you like that kind of clothing try playing as a mesmer. Pretty much all of that profession's armor options have a more casual edge to them and seem more like high-class party/event apparel then actual armor.

I know that mesmers have "elegant" clothing but that's still armor and it's for one profession only. I want it to be availible for all.

I think there should be more armour options for different classes. Why is it that only Mesmers get to wear dresses. And why is it always a dress, and you can't have a skirt bottom with the great looking Rogue's tops? That's the kind of stuff that annoys me.

I wouldn't want to see 'clothes' per se, as I just know it would get annoying having to change to armour just to go into combat areas (and unless your selling something, who really spends extended periods of time in outposts?), but I WOULD like to see more, and differing armour designs for each class. Warrior and Ranger armour for a start is simply boring; and don't even get me started on the ugliness of most Monk armour... The way I always choose the armour I like is by 'if I were my character, what would I wear.' In fact, there's some GW outfit's that I probably WOULD wear (if I were going to a fance dress party )

So...yes to a few more non-class specific (or at least more original, and not generically 'warrior' etc) armour, but no to clothes.

Great concept, but I agree with Prism. I can’t see this feature being implemented so late in the game.

The idea is pretty cool, but I would like to see cloths obtained from events. Like hats.

As much as I hate saying it, this should wait for GW2.

I think this could possibly help with the people running in their underwear in town problem.

when you disrobe your armor, you'll be wearing the everyday outfit instead of underwear.

You could have a wardrobe feature and it's basically just a skin changer for your armor. It won't take up any space and will just be a drop-down box in your inventory which will only be accessible in towns. Unlock and get new pieces by going to a tailor and he'll make stuff for you as described in the OP. Heck, you could have nobles' wear and everything!

I love you honey. You draw all of those for this idea? It's good. BUT these clothes should only be shown in town post else it will be just another amour type. And these can not be bought from amour guy. Do a HARD quest or archieve something. It will be more challenging.

THis idea sounds good.

Players like wear special items, so why there is no non armor wears?
Example: Stolen enemy clothes, or just something remidn us holyday, christmas, and ...anything you can imagine.

Interesting idea but I really don't see it happening. At least, not for GW1. Maybe for GW2. But yeah, I don't see it happening because this is mostly a combat game, so armor is needed. I doubt ANet would add regular clothes for events that only happen once a year or so. They probably think the hats are enough. And as for hanging out with friends, well most prefer to show off their various armor sets to each other, or so I've witnessed. And the problem with this idea is that it would also take up more inventory space, which is limited already. And what if you forgot to put armor on while going out in combat? Instant pwnage. Plus most armors look like regular clothes anyway, except really the warriors and paragons. But I do like the idea of all armors being open for all professions. My ranger would look awesome in some of those mesmer armors.
